As a teenager, Betty was in an abusive relationship with a man who was ten years older than her. They got married sometime after, and Betty was forced to become a hooker. She and her husband separated sometime before the series began.
Season One[edit | edit source]
Betty is an Internet hooker in season one. Tom pays Betty to come over to be his "friend". Tom tries to meet Betty again but his parents say no.
Season Two[edit | edit source]
Betty is now pretending to work as a court stenographer, and is in a relationship with Leo. They get engaged after only a month of dating, but Betty warns Leo that she may still be legally married to her ex and would need to find out before any wedding plans are made. She's later told through the help of a private investigator that her husband was dead for sometime.
Season Three[edit | edit source]
Betty is not present for Ben and Adrian's wedding, and later visits Adrian after she lost the baby.
Season Four[edit | edit source]
After sensing that Leo is no longer happy in their marriage, Betty tells him that they can split up since she can use her divorce settlement to go back to school. They then part on good terms.
When Jack was in the hospital, it was revealed that she might have known the pimp who trafficked Chloe. Tom calls Betty while she's at school to see if she can get some information about him, but she refuses to since the guy who hurt Jack.
