History Edit

In Your Cheatin' Heart Mimsy had agreed to come to allow Amy to live with her throughout the remainder of her pregnancy, but when Mimsy came down to visit, she guiltily revealed that she had just put her house up for sale and that she had been diagnosed as being in the early stages of Alzheimer's Disease.

She reappears twice in season two. Once in the premiere and again in the finale. Anne comments that she likes everyone better than her, which is shown during her appearances. She even takes a liking to George's first wife, Grace's mother, and remarries, much to the dismay of her daughter to a man named Eugene Levy.

In the season 4 episode, Hole in the Wall, Mimsy makes yet another appearance and seems to have forgotten she has a daughter entirely until George reminds her. Anne moves into a condo to take care of her after hearing she has to be moved within the facility due to her illness progressing.

In season 5, it's revealed that Mimsy was not at Anne's wedding. Anne eloped and didn't want her there, but soon regretted it. Anne and Mimsy spend time together in the 100th episode, I Do and I Don't, in which she finally comes out to her. Mimsy then sends Ashley and Amy money in the following episodes, much to Anne's dismay. She also ends up texting everyone about Anne being gay in a later episode, which everyone finds humorous except Anne. In the episode Hedy's Happy Holiday House, Mimsy shows up with Anne to enjoy Christmas with her family, disrupting a moment between Kathleen and George.

So far, she has appeared in 6 episodes, and has been referenced in many more.

  • Despite only making 5 appearances, so far, Mimsy is the most referenced character, being mentioned even before her appearances, and mentioned even afterward throughout the seasons.
  • Mimsy's age may be revealed in season two when she says she gave birth to Anne near the end of World War II,? stating Anne is 57. George quickly corrects her about this reminding her her daughter is not yet forty. While an error, it does seem? to reveal that even though she did not give birth to Anne at that time, that she was a young woman? in her twenties, putting her in her late? seventies during the course of the series. becuse of this she might have two older daughters since she got mixed up with Anne birthdate and age
